I've had mine for over 5 wonderful years. The last time I used it, it started fine, but then after a short time, it quit. I replaced the heating element and the temp. control unit, but it still does the same thing. I'm sure I reconnected the wiring correctly.

I don't want to toss it, I like it way too much!

Can anyone help or give advice on what is happening?

Thanks

psburke,

Please contact us at (888) 922-1511, so that we can assist you in troubleshooting your issue. The smoker is a very straightforward device and I am certain we can determine what is causing your difficulties.

I looked you up on our system and left a voice mail this morning.

Thanks, SmokinTex

Wow Sounds like yours and mine did the same thing. But like you with the hours I have gotten out of this unit. :D I'm a happy Customer and will fix it up and get many more years out of mine also.
Will call the above number later on today.
Pete

Scott;

Once again thanks for your help!

To let the others know, I had an electrical contractor replace the outlet, it's one of those safety GFCI type. I plugged in the smoker, and, after about 45 minutes, the same thing happened. I called them back, they did some more testing and said it was the smoker. I simply can't believe them. The wiring on the smoker is very simple, not complicated at all. The contractor suggested I use an unprotected outlet, but can't "guarantee" the safety of the smoker or the outlet if I do.

I've already replaced the heating element and the thermostat on my smoker and I know it's safe and dependable. There must be something going on with the circuit. Oh, and our house is only 10 years old, so it's not like we have old wiring or anything like that.

I have a 14 lb. bird going in at midnight tonight.

Have a smokin' great time friends, and Happy Thanksgiving!
