We had a Noreaster and our smoker was in our shed. Well it had been awhile we wanted to smoke meat for the New year and hubby went out to start up and the entire inside of the smoker is covered in green mold. Is it safe to use vinegar and baking soda to clean it? Any suggestions. We have had this smoker for years and never had an issue like this....Thanks:confused:

We suggest you run your smoker at 250F degrees empty for a couple of hours first.
Then after it has cooled use vinegar and baking soda for a thourough cleaning.
Scrape any excess gunk inside with a plastic spatula or old credit card. Don't use anything sharp.
Be sure to rinse with clear water carefully to not touch the element or temperature sensor in the back of the smoker.
Then reseason at least a couple of hours with wood like you did originally. Any kind of wood will do as long as it is dry.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck.
Happy New Year!
