Default For those who like pecan smoke

I have always like to smoke with pecan wood, A few years ago & didn't have any but I had a bunch of unshelled pecans, well I tried them out in an off brand smoker & was pleasantly surprised, but it wasn't as strong as wood. Later on I purchased a 1400 & tried just using the hulls instead on the whole pecans & it was as if I had used wood chunks. I stopped at a pecan store close to my house & asked them what they did with the hulls after shelling, they said they threw them away & I could have all I wanted. I filled up a big storage container & I have not bought or cut any wood for a long time, try it if you like pecan smoke flavor, they work great in the Smokin Tex wood box. I forgot to say I make a foil pouch to put them in & loosly close it or punch a few holes in the top.

I like the pecan hulls. Good Flavor. Anyone else try?

I'll try using the foil pouch next time too.
